Godwin-Austen brings its strength from its leadership. Below is a brief snapshot of its director’s profiles.

Suresh (Vicky) Sharma – Director

Vicky comes with a Civil Engineering background and rich & extensive experience in managing all types of construction projects. Vicky possesses 25 years of construction industry experience out of which 14+ years of experience in Auckland, New Zealand. Vicky’s portfolio of successfully managed and completed projects contain early childhood centres, commercial buildings viz. Mobil and Gull Service Stations, Office and Restaurant Fit-outs and multi-lot Residential Development projects. Vicky has managed the projects from pre-start planning phase through to the successful completion including project budgeting as well. As part of his overall construction management role, Vicky does contracts management for different sub-contractors and suppliers for all types of construction projects. Vicky has an expertise in liaising with Territorial Authorities, Architects and Project Engineers and sorting out design related issues (onsite conflict resolution) and achieve best possible outcome for the project.  Vicky is thorough with his knowledge and experience in implementing Health & Safety procedures on construction sites and ensuring a Work Safe environment.

Vicky is a proven organiser, team leader and motivator for his building associates’ team and enjoys delivering successful projects, each time.

Vivek Deshwal, MEngNZ, PMP® – Director

Vivek is a business-technology leader with global experience in Consulting with expertise in Project, Program & Portfolio Management. Through his 26 years of technology, engineering and project management experience, he has been part of and led high performance teams and delivered successful outcomes for leading organisations around the world including several fortune 500 companies. Vivek has been instrumental in several successful business and digital transformation programs for clients across Banking & Financial services, telecom, manufacturing, oil & gas, Engineering & Construction, Pharmaceuticals and Public Services portfolio. Among his clients, he has won the reputation of being a trusted advisor and an advocate of the usage of industry best practices on their business & digital transformation programs. Having lived and worked in US, Europe, India and New Zealand, Vivek has rich experience in bridging cultures – working with multi-ethnic teams to deliver successful outcomes for his clients. Vivek is a Civil Engineer from I.I.T. Roorkee and a Project Management Professional from Project Management Institute, Philadelphia, USA (PMI PMP®). Vivek is also a member of Engineering New Zealand® and PMINZ®.

Vivek also runs a multi-disciplinary consultancy ArchPoint Ltd. (www.archpoint.co.nz) and provides end-to-end Project Management Services for clients liaising with Architectural Designers, Civil and Structural Engineers, Planners and Surveyors. Vivek also interacts with Auckland Council and leads from the front during Resource Consent and Building Consent stages of a project approval. Vivek’s deep knowledge of Auckland Unitary Plan, Council’s Resource and Building Consent processes and understanding of construction methodologies puts him in a unique position to help deliver on-time, on-budget and qualitative successful projects.

Vivek is actively involved in managing multi-lot Residential Development projects across Auckland and shares the burden with Vicky for day-to-day construction projects monitoring, issues resolution and Godwin-Austen operations for qualitative and successful projects outcome. Vivek leads the subdivision development process on all Godwin-Austen projects working with the licensed cadastral surveyors, engineers, utility services providers, Auckland Transport, Watercare and Auckland Council in order to get the 223 and 224C certificates issued.
